Facebook Messenger app for Windows 7 requires you to login and grant access to your FB account from browser. Once after you install and launch Messenger installer file, to log into the app, right-click the Facebook icon in your Windows system tray and select ‘Log in’. Messenger will log you in and continue delivering messages and notifications after you close your web browser. Please not that unless you select ‘Log out’ by right-clicking on Messenger icon from notifications area the app will stay logged in though users won’t get any updates or notifications on desktop.
